“Can we be on camera?” the car dealer behind @georgejsaliba says he asked a customer. The answer, as he tells it, was “No.” The reason, in the captions burned into the reel: “Because my wife doesn’t know I’m buying a car.”

The reel, posted September 17, 2026 with the caption “WILL SHE KNOW??”, is the dealer telling that story on a car lot in front of two lime green Porsches. It opens with the line that the buyer “does not want to be” filmed because “his wife thinks it’s the same car.” Then: “Behind me you see two GT3’s. One’s a GT3 RS and one’s a GT3,” with a cutout image of each model popping up as he names it. The buyer never appears, so everything here is the dealer’s account of the conversation.

According to the captions, a car is going “home today” and “she’s not supposed to know he’s buying a new car.” He recounts pressing the point: “So you’re just gonna show up to the house with a new car and she’s not gonna know?” The buyer’s reply, as quoted on screen, begins “It’s the same” and ends with the word car, with an expletive in between.

The dealer does not agree. “But obviously we all know it’s not the same car,” he says, then walks the camera along the pair. “This is a GT3 and this is a GT3 RS.” On screen the two are the same bright green, parked a few feet apart, each with a fixed rear wing. His conclusion: “But the wife is gonna have no idea.”

He says he asked once more how the wife is “not gonna find out,” and gives the buyer’s plan in one line: “That’s why he bought the exact same spec.” He then runs through the possibilities for viewers, “She’s gonna know,” “She’s not gonna find out,” “She’s never gonna know,” and asks them to comment with what they think. Text near the start of the reel asks, “Did his wife find out the truth at the end?” The reel does not say.

One part of this story is useful to any buyer: the refusal. This buyer said no to being filmed, and he is not in the reel. If you do not want your purchase on a seller’s social media, say so before the handover starts, and ask that your face, your voice and the plate that will go on the car be left out.

For anyone replacing a car with a matching one on purpose, “same spec” needs checking on paper. Ask for the build sheet or window sticker for both cars and compare them line by line: the paint by its exact name, the wheels, the seats, the brake caliper color. Two cars in the same green can still differ on every other line.
