A single, never-to-be-repeated 2026 Corvette ZR1X sold for $2.6 million on January 24, 2026, and Chevrolet didn’t keep a cent of it. According to Chevrolet’s own announcement, the winning bid came from Rick Hendrick at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, and the entire sale price went straight to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

What Made This Car One-of-One
Per Chevrolet’s release, it’s a “Stars & Steel”-inspired edition of the twin-turbo ZR1X, finished in a custom hand-painted Dark Satin Steel exterior with a Santorini Blue interior. Chevrolet lists a combined 1,250 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 1.89 seconds for the production ZR1X platform underneath.
More Than Just a Car Changed Hands
The winning bid also came with an engine assembly experience at GM’s Performance Build Center and the first-ever Corvette delivery at GM’s Design Dome.
Where the Money Actually Went
Tunnel to Towers builds mortgage-free homes for Gold Star families and injured veterans. Foundation CEO Frank Siller said the gift would help the organization “continue delivering on our promise to never forget the families of our fallen heroes.”
Part of a Bigger Pattern
Chevrolet’s cumulative total raised through eighth-generation Corvette charity sales at Barrett-Jackson now stands at $15.5 million over more than 15 years.
