A red and white pointed slingback is sticking straight out of the tread of a Ford Bronco’s rear tire, driven in heel first, with a gold V logo showing on the insole. On the pavement behind the bumper lies the other shoe of the pair.
That is the opening shot of a 24 second clip posted on August 7, 2026, by a TikTok user who goes by Mia, @miaquaid. There is no narration and no text on screen. Her caption does the talking: “Whoever left their @Valentino heels next to the curb, you owe me a new tire.” She tags Ford Motor Company and adds the hashtags #fordbronco, #flattire and #chicago.
The Bronco is a pale gray four door parked tight against a city curb, and the damaged tire is the rear one on the curb side. Mia walks the camera in close. The stiletto has gone into the face of the tread near the outer edge, and the shoe hangs off the tire by that heel alone.
The next shot is a white pickup with “Wells Road Service” lettered on the door, stopped in the street. A worker in a high visibility yellow shirt kneels at the rear wheel. A few seconds later a cross shaped lug wrench is lying on the asphalt, the flat is lying beside it, and he is still crouched at the hub with a replacement wheel on.
Nobody pulls the shoe out. The flat ends up on its side on the sidewalk with the heel still planted in the rubber, and Mia circles it for a closer look at the red lattice pattern and the logo. In the last shot the tire has been loaded into the Bronco’s cargo area, slingback and all.
The clip does not show how the shoes got to the curb; her caption says only that someone left them there.
What the clip does show is how to handle an object lodged in a tire, starting with leaving it where it is. From the curb to the cargo area, the heel stays in. The object marks exactly where the hole is, so a tire shop can see whether it sits in the tread or closer to the sidewall before deciding what can be done with the tire.
She also filmed everything before the wheel came off: the heel in the tread, the second shoe on the ground and the curb it was lying against. If you ever want someone else to pay for a tire, as her caption puts it, footage of the object in place, taken before the car moves, is the proof that exists only at that moment. Follow it with a close shot of the tread and a wide one showing the street.
The swap itself took a lug wrench and a replacement wheel. This Bronco carries a spare on its tailgate, visible in the first seconds of the clip. Before a flat happens, find out whether your vehicle has a spare at all, where the wrench and jack are stored and whether the spare is holding air.
Then there is the tire in the cargo area. Taking the damaged one along means a shop can inspect it, and it stays available if the cost is ever disputed. Keep the road service receipt with it.
The second shoe was lying in plain view at the curb line. Before pulling into or out of a curbside space, look along the gutter where the rear tire will track.
